Buyer Responsibilities
At Central Arkansas Auto Auction, buyers play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and transparent transaction. To maintain fairness and integrity, all buyers are expected to adhere to the following responsibilities:
-
Know the Auction Policies
Buyers are responsible for reviewing and understanding all auction policies, including the NAAA Arbitration Policy and any additional rules set by Central Arkansas Auto Auction. Lack of awareness does not exempt a buyer from compliance -
Pre-Sale Inspection
Buyers are encouraged to inspect vehicles prior to bidding. Pre-sale inspections allow buyers to assess vehicle condition and verify disclosures, minimizing post-sale issues. -
Understand the Light System and Announcements
Buyers must be aware of what the auction light system (Green, Yellow, Red) means, and listen for any announcements made during the sale. Buying a vehicle sold under a certain light or announcement means accepting the terms under which it is being sold. -
Bidding Responsibility
Once a buyer places a bid and wins, the sale is binding. Buyers are expected to honor all winning bids and complete payment promptly. -
Title Rules and “Title Absent” Vehicles
Buyers must understand and accept title policies, including timeframes for title delivery on “title absent” purchases. Buyers are responsible for verifying the title match upon receipt. -
Arbitration Timelines and Claims
If a buyer believes there is a valid arbitration issue, it must be reported within the specified time limits. Buyers must follow arbitration procedures and present valid supporting documentation. -
Post-Sale Inspection (Optional but Recommended)
Buyers may request a post-sale inspection to verify major mechanical components. This must be requested immediately after purchase, and results must be reviewed promptly to determine next steps. -
Payment and Gate Pass
Buyers are responsible for settling all payments, including vehicle price, buyer fee, and any added service fees. A gate pass will not be issued until payment is complete. -
Transport and Pickup
Buyers are responsible for arranging timely transport or pickup of purchased vehicles. Vehicles must be removed from the auction lot within the designated timeframe. -
Professional Conduct
Buyers must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully with auction staff, sellers, and other buyers. Disruptive or unethical behavior may result in suspension or termination of auction privileges.
